INTERNSHIP: KNYSNA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY

STIPEND: R100 000 per annum (all inclusive)

Internship Overview:

The MFMIP is a structured professional training and work experience programme with the goal of providing high quality training and practical exposure in all aspects of a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office, which is governed by the Municipal Finance Management Act, No 56 of 2003 and the underlying reforms. The programme has a logical training sequence that builds on the skills and
competencies acquired during University and Technikon training and ends with a qualification in Municipal Finance Management in accordance with the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels, Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007.

Key Internship Initiatives:

  • Meet specific learning outcomes as set out in the National Treasury Finance Intern Skills Development Programme
  • The successful applicants will primarily be trained in the key areas of the Finance, Internal Audit and Risk departments to
  • ensure that adequate skills are developed
  • Exposure to the implementation of the MFMA, GRAP Standards, Policies and Procedures

Requirements

completed three-year Bachelors Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 7), with majors in Accounting, Economics or Finance.

Skills

  • Reasonable written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy are further requirements.
