JOB PURPOSE
To undertake all driving duties and attend to breakdowns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Collecting and delivering spares/mail, signs for spares and delivers vehicles to different departments.
- Moving, shunting and parking vehicles into designated areas in the workshop.
- Operating breakdown vehicle and determines whether to tow vehicles into workshops or whether they should be driven.
- Diagnosing problems arising from drivers report quickly and accurately.
- Breaking and fitting tyres and assembles manually.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of ancillary vehicles.
- Communicating clearly over a two-way radio with customers.
- Completing job cards at breakdown sites.
- Responsible for the safe-keeping and correct utilization of tools and equipment under his/her control.
- Working in a safe manner and adheres to all safety rules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 10 or equivalent or NTC2.
- Valid motor vehicle drivers license (Code EC) plus PRDP.
- 6 Months relevant experience.

PRINCIPAL CLERK
JOB PURPOSE
To provide customer and related services in accordance with the principles of Batho Pele and the unit’s vision to the eThekwini Municipality customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Attend to information sharing, queries and complaints from customers in respect of various
services provided by the municipality. - Receive and scrutinize applications for vending permits from prospective street traders.
- Receive and process applications for business license applications in respect of food handling,
entertainment and hawking in accordance with the Business Licensing Act. - Responsible for general administration duties including filing, maintaining literature and
information. - Complete a transactional management register daily.
