JOB DESCRIPTION:
Successful Applicants will be required to sign a 2 (Two) year learning programme contract and will be paid a stipend according to Company Policies and Procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualification(s):
• N6 Mechanical Engineering
• Trade Test Fitter and Turner
EXPERIENCE:
• 1-year mechanical experience in rotating and stationary turbine components maintenance
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Skills:
• Ability to measure and issue auxiliaries manufacturing instructions based on design blade fit tolerances.
• Ability to carry out pre- and post-inspections of turbines for detection of any abnormalities prior to de-blading.
• Ability to differentiate between right-hand side and left-hand side turbine blade configurations rotor.
• Ability to identify areas of process development and improved working methods and tooling.
Knowledge
• Ability to read, understand and independently work to technical drawings, specifications, and unit conversions in accordance with international codes and standards.
• Turbine blades design and root configurations – fir tree, straddle root and pinned root, etc.
• Understanding of moments theorems – dead weight and moment weighing processes.
• Understanding of technical processes and procedures related to blading process – freestanding vs pre-twists.
• Understanding of integrity checks after de/re-blading activities
