MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Potential candidates must be preferably unemployed.
- Be in possession of a B Tech or B Degree (Adv Diploma) in Electrical Engineering.
- Preference will be given to graduates who reside within the George/ Garden Route Municipal area.
- A valid Code 8 (B) driver’s license.
- Computer Literacy: MS Office.
- Academic content must be realistic match to the academic requirements for professional registration with the
- respective statutory councils (ECSA).
- Appointment will be made in context of Employment Equity.
- Be prepared to sign a 3-year contract with the George Municipality.
- Must have good written, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must maintain good consumer and customer relations.
- Must be able to handle conflict and work under pressure.
- Must be able to pay attention to detail and apply discretion in swift changing circumstances.
- Must use own judgement in the sequence of performing duties.
- Candidates may be required to undergo testing on any requirement, skill or competency as part of the selection process
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THE POST:
The successful applicant will be employed as an Intern in the Directorate: Electrotechnical Services at the George Municipality, under the supervision of experienced Technical Managers and Supervisors and with the
guidance of a Professional Mentor. The Intern may also be placed or be seconded to another Public Entity or Consultancy during the Internship period to obtain the required “Outcomes” in accordance with ECSA’s “Road to Professional Registration” program.
